Because of Jesus, we have freedom. This is great news! However, it can be tempting to choose to exercise that freedom for our own benefit. It’s easy to choose ourselves, especially when we’re tired or frustrated.
In those moments, it helps to remember that serving others feels good. Think about how you felt the last time you shared a toy, gave up your spot in line, or spent time helping a friend.
How can you serve someone today, even when you don’t feel like it?
Pray: God, thank you for the freedom you give us to choose to love others. Help us to use our freedom to serve others. Thank you for giving us the strength to put others above ourselves, even when it’s difficult. Amen.
