Paul encourages his readers to be deeply rooted in Jesus and not to be turned away by those who teach false things.
Being deeply rooted in Jesus requires us to focus on him. Reading the Bible, praying and getting together with others who believe in Jesus are great ways to better establish our faith. Ignoring these things makes it easier for us to get distracted from him.
