Waiting is hard. Waiting without knowing if it will ever end is even harder.

Maybe you've thought, “If God would just tell me when this will turn around, I could handle it. If I knew I wasn't waiting for nothing, I'd be okay.” That's valid. Knowing the outcome would make things easier—but it leaves very little room for faith.

The uncertain stretch you're in right now is often where your trust in God grows its deepest roots. King David knew that feeling well. He once wrote, "O Lord, how long will you forget me? Forever? How long will you look the other way?" (Psalm 13:1, NLT). By the end of this psalm, he still doesn't have his answer. But he chose to trust God's unfailing love anyway.

Strong faith doesn’t come without questions. What matters is what you do with your questions. God already knows what you're thinking before you say it. You won’t shock or anger him by asking from an honest place. If anything, you’ll find even more of his patience and grace.

Pray: God, I'm tired of waiting, and I don't understand your timing. I'm bringing you my frustration and the expectations that never happened. Help me trust you when nothing makes sense, and remind me that you haven't forgotten me. Amen.
