Most of us spend a lot of energy trying to manage what’s on the outside: our behavior, our image, the way others see us. But God starts with the inside. If our hearts are off, our lives will eventually be off too.
Imagine filling a water bottle with muddy water and expecting it to pour out clean. It doesn’t work. What’s inside eventually shows.
It’s easy to go through the motions—go to church, say the right words, do the “Christian” things—while quietly carrying bitterness, pride, jealousy, or anger. But those things will eventually leak out in what you say and how you treat people.
Today is about getting real with what’s going on inside. What’s living in your heart right now that might be shaping your words and actions?
Integrity doesn’t begin with behavior change; it begins with heart change. And the good news? God is eager to meet you there.
Pray: God, help me be honest about what’s living in my heart. Show me what needs to be healed, what needs to be removed, and what needs your truth. Teach me to guard it well so my whole life points to you.
