Temptation is a real, relentless part of life—whether it shows up as anger, pride, envy, greed, or unhealthy habits. Left unchecked, it can feel like a monster dragging you away from the life you were created to live. Scripture doesn’t ignore the struggle. It shows us that temptation is common, even inevitable. But it also points to a way forward.

Jesus said, “You will know the truth, and the truth will set you free” (John 8:32). Freedom from temptation starts with knowing God’s truth and believing it—not just knowing what’s right or wrong, but understanding who you are in Christ and how he empowers you.

The Bible also reminds us that God provides a way out—talking honestly with him, listening for his guidance, and surrounding ourselves with other people who do the same. When you confront temptation with truth, support, and reliance on God, the monster loses its grip.

Pray: Jesus, show me the truth that sets me free. Help me see the path you provide and give me the strength to resist the things that pull me away from you. Amen.
